“I think Connor likes you,” your friend, Karina, nudged you.
You looked over to the cute, brunette boy that was staring at you from across the hallway. “Yeah, right,” you muttered.
“I’m serious! Oh, look! He’s coming to ask you out!” Karina squealed.
You looked away from your locker, straightening up as Connor was approaching you. He flashed you a charming smile.
“I’m gonna go. Meet me by your car!” Karina smiled.
“No! Rina!” You whisper-shouted.
Your attention was turned to Connor as he stood in front of you.
“Hey, Y/n,” he greeted. “Hey… Connor,” you smiled shyly.
“I wanted to ask you a question,” he said, leaning against the lockers.
“Y-Yeah, go ahead,” you nodded. He smiled at your nervousness, moving closer to you.
His scent filled your nostrils and you felt yourself going dizzy. You leaned against the lockers, hoping it would help you not trip and fall.
“So, I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date with me at Mystic Grill. We can get dinner then go back to my place and watch a movie,” Connor suggested.
Your eyes widened. You were pleasantly surprised. You had liked Connor since school had started, which was a few months ago. You had been trying to get him to notice you, which was going horribly until now. You were way too shy to go up to say anything to him. You guessed that Karina had something to do with him asking you out.
“Um, Earth to Y/n?” Connor asked, waving his hand in front of your face.
“Huh?” You blinked rapidly. You looked at him, getting even more embraced and shy when you realise you got lost in your own thoughts. “Oh, I’m so sorry. I’m just um… not really used to people asking me out, you know? I’ve never really been on a date before. My Aunt Jenna used to say that was okay since I’m only in junior year and stuff, but my brother has already had sex with Vicki Donovan and my sister is already on her second boyfriend. It’s kinda sad how un-loveable I am and-”
You were cut off by Connor chuckling. You cussed yourself out in your head for being so awkward.
“I’m sorry, again. I ramble a lot, too,” you apologised.
“It’s not worries. It’s really cute. You’re really cute. Anyways, what do you say? Come with me to Netflix and chill?” Connor asked.
You smiled, opening your mouth to respond, but you were rudely interrupted.
“She has plans Friday. Sorry, mate,” an all-too familiar Australian accent sounded behind you.
You clenched your jaw and balled your fists. You turned your head, glaring.
“Kol, go away,” you said through gritted teeth.
“No can do, darling. Jeremy asked me to watch over you,” Kol smiled.
“Uh, who’s this guy?” Connor asked. You turned back to him. “Oh, just a uh… family friend. Don’t mind him, he’s super annoying.”
“Actually, do mind me. I’m here to pick Y/n up. Elena wants you home, now,” Kol said.
“Oh. Well, if you need to be home, go ahead,” Connor said.
You sighed, “Yeah, um, I do. But it’s a yes to the date.”
Connor smiled widely. “Awesome! I’ll pick you up at 8.”
“Great! Can’t wait,” you smiled sweetly.
Connor walked away, leaving you grinning from ear-to-ear.
“You can do so much better, Y/n,” Kol said.
You rolled your eyes, turning 180 to him. “Go away, Kol. I know for a fact that Jeremy and Elena didn’t tell you to watch over me.”
“Hm, true. That was just an excuse,” Kol smiled.
“An excuse for what?” You asked. “Well, I needed and excuse to talk to you,” Kol shrugged.
You sighed, going back to your locker and grabbing your textbooks. “About what?” You asked.
“Well, I know my family hasn’t made it easy for any of you, so we are throwing a ball! My mother’s idea, really. We are allowed to bring dates and I’d like to bring you,” Kol explained.
You started to feel all flustered. “Uh… Wh-Why?”
“Because I like you, Y/n. I think you’re cute, funny, and all the good parts of a woman. I’d like you to ditch that Connor-nobody and be my plus one!”
You slammed your locker shut, walking away from Kol.
“Y/n, darling! You never answered me!” Kol exclaimed, trying to catch up with you.
“Yeah, I did that on purpose,” you muttered, knowing he could hear you because of his vamp hearing.
“You are so rude. I take it your parents didn’t teach you any manners? Not like they can teach you them now,” Kol joked.
You scoffed, not believing what you were hearing. “Like you can talk. And plus, why would I want to go to the ball with a jerk like you?”
You waked out of the school, spotting Karina over at your car.
“Y/n, wait!” Kol called out, reaching out to grab your wrist.
“What!” You exclaimed, turning to him.
“Look, I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t mean that, but I really do want you to accompany me to the ball,” Kol said, staring you right in the eyes.
You stared at him for a few moments, your eyes flickering down to his lips. Once you noticed him smirk, you looked away, pulling your wrist away from his grip.
“I appreciate the invitation, but I’m going out with Connor,” you mumbled.
Kol sighed, “Fine. But if you reconsider, it’ll be at our house.”
“Thanks,” you said, looking up at him through your lashes. “I need to go, okay? My friend is waiting for me.”
“Alright. I hope you reconsider, Y/n. I’d be a shame if I didn’t have a date,” Kol said.
“As if you can’t get anyone you want,” you rolled your eyes.
“But I only want you,” Kol admitted.
Butterflies fluttered in your stomach. As much as you wanted to stay and ask him if he really did want you, you knew you’d end up a blubbering mess. And you definitely didn’t want to be like that in front of a devastatingly handsome Original vampire.
“I gotta go,” you murmured, turning away and stomping off to Karina.
“Hey, who’s that?” Karina asked once you approached.
“Oh um… An annoying friend of Jeremy,’s” you lied, running your fingers through your hair.
“Hm, well he’s hot,” Karina bit her lip, looking at Kol who was still where you left him.
You rolled your eyes and started to twiddle with your fingers. “No, he’s not.”
Karina narrowed her eyes at you, gasping in realisation.
“What?” You asked, full of confusion. “You like him!” Karina grinned.
You scoffed, “Hell no.”
“Hell, yes! You’re doing that thing you do when you talk about a guy you like,” Karina giggled, pointing to your hands.
You looked down and sighed, putting your arms to your sides. “I do that when I’m nervous.”
“Oh, yeah? Are you nervous about Mr. Hottie?” Karina wiggled her eyebrows.
“No. I’m nervous because Connor asked me out this Friday,” you explained.
“Oh, my God! Babe, that’s awesome!” Karina squealed, jumping up and down, clapping while doing so.
“Thanks, I know,” you smiled sheepishly. “Well, what day is it? Wednesday, right? We need to shop!” Karina exclaimed.
“No, no! I'll just wear jeans and a cute top. There’s no need to shop,” you said.
“Have you seen your closet? You only have one cute flora top and a pair of black baggy jeans. The rest of your closet are sweats and sweatshirts. You don’t even have any date-appropriate dresses!” Karina said.
“Not true!” You protested weakly.
“Mhm,” Karina said, pursing her lips. You rolled your eyes, knowing she was right.
“Fine, but we are only going to buy one outfit. ONE,” you said, holding up your first finger.
“I’ll take it! Wanna go now?” Karina asked.
“Sure,” you nodded. “Yay! We can get lunch at the Grill, too,” Karina suggested, opening the passenger door of your car.
“Alright,” you nodded, going over to the driver’s seat.
You drove to the outlet mall, parking in front of the shop. Karina and you walked inside, Karina immediately pulling you to the jeans section.
“God, I hate jeans,” you muttered. “Why?” Karina asked.
“Because they’re tight and I have to jump to get them on,” you explained.
“Well, that’s just because you have a nice ass,” Karina smiled.
You smiled, “Yeah, right.” “I’m serious! Your figure is to die for! I’m jealous, honestly,” Karina said in a sincere tone.
You chuckled, “Thanks, Rina.”
“Of course. Now, let’s see what jeans they have. Do you want black, dark wash, or light wash?” Karina asked.
“Dark wash,” you answered. “High-waisted or low-waisted?” Karina asked.
“(Your choice),” you said.
Karina pulled out two pairs of jeans, handing them to you. “Now, for the shirts! Do you want a ruffled top, knot front, or button-up?”
“Um, ruffled, I guess,” you said. “Alright… Well, I know you like plaid… So, what about this one?” Karina pulled out a black and white top that was cropped. It was long sleeved, the sleeves ruffled slightly. The bottom of the shirt was stretchy and the top had buttons.
“Wow, this is really cute. Simple, too. I like it,” you smiled.
“I knew you would! Now, go try it on,” Karina said, going over to the changing rooms.
You put on your cloths, buttoning up the top and turning around to the mirror. You raised your brows, surprised by how good you looked.
“You done?” Karina called out from outside.
“Yeah,” you said, going out of the dressing room.
“You look so pretty. Y/n. The jeans highlight your figure perfectly!” Karina exclaimed.
“Yeah,” you smiled, “And the top isn’t as cropped as I thought it would be.”
“I am amazing at dressing you! Maybe I should become a professional dresser?” Karina said.
You chuckled, “You should. Well, I think I’ll get this. I’m not interested in shopping anymore and I’m hungry.”
“Alright, well, I have some things I want to try on. So, give me 15 minutes tops and get us a table at the Grill,” Karina said, holding up the clothes she found.
“Sounds good,” you said. You went back behind the door and changed out of your clothes. You paid for your outfit, walking out and going to the Grill.
You got yourself seated quickly.
“Y/n, hey!” Matt exclaimed. “Oh, hey, blue eyes,” you grinned.
“How have you been?” Matt asked. “Good! How about you?” You asked.
“I’ve been good, thanks. How is Elena?” Matt asked.
You chuckled, “Elena is good. I’ll tell her you asked about her.”
“Alright, sounds good. So, I heard Connor Askren asked you out,” Matt said.
“Oh, yeah,” you smiled happily. “Good for you. I have to warn you, though, be careful,” Matt said.
“Be careful about what?” You asked. “Well, Connor has a reputation of asking girls out then bailing on them,” he explained.
“Oh,” you frowned. “Well, he seemed really excited to ask me out.”
“I'm sure he was. I’m just saying. You’re like a little sister to me. I don’t want you getting hurt,” Matt explained.
You smiled gratefully. “Thanks, big bro.”
“No problem. Anyways, are you here alone or is Karina with you?” He asked.
“She’s with me. She’s at the clothing store. I just came from there, hence the bag,” you said, holding up your shopping bag.
“Ah right. Let me guess, she wanted to try some stuff on and she let you go?” Matt asked.
“Yep,” you laughed. “That’s what Caroline does. So, do you want to get started with a drink or anything?” Matt asked.
“Yeah, sure. Can I get a Diet Coke, chicken tenders, and cheese fries?” You asked.
“Coming right up. Do you know what Karina would want?” Matt asked.
“She’ll probably want lemonade, a chicken wrap, and onion rings,” you said.
“Alright. Be right back,” Matt smiled.
You gave him a goodbye wave. You sighed once he left, looking at your shopping bag. You would be lying if you said you were’t worried about Connor. You hoped that he was different than what Matt told you.
————
Friday came sooner than expected. You were currently at home and getting ready for your date. Karina had helped you with your makeup, putting eyeliner on you and letting you borrow her lipstick. You were strapping on your heels when Karina told you she was leaving.
“Text me if you two kiss,” Karina winked.
“Highly doubt we will, but noted,” you smiled.
“Alright, I’m gonna go. You look amazing, Y/n. Have fun!” Karina hugged you before leaving.  “Thanks,” you giggled as you shut the door.
You looked at your phone, seeing it was 7:57. You smiled nervously, grabbing your purse and waiting at the door. The 3 minutes passed by slowly. It was soon 8 and he wasn’t there yet. You shrugged it off, knowing that he would probably be there in a minute or two. But as you waited, 2 minutes passed, 5, 10, and 20. Each time you checked your phone, your hope in Connor disappeared and your fear of what Matt said becoming true increased. Once it reached 8:30, you realised that Connor wasn’t coming and he had in fact stood you up.
You stomped off to your room, tears falling down your cheeks.
“God! How stupid are you, Y/n? Thinking a guy like Connor would want to go out with you? A football player? A guy with one of the highest GPA’s? Fat chance,” you sobbed to yourself.
You took off your heels and wiped your eyes with the back of your hand, smudging all the makeup that Karina had done. You took off your clothes, slipping into sweats and a tank top. You washed your face of all the makeup, going into your kitchen. You went to go and get some chocolate, but someone interrupted you.
“Don’t look so glum, Y/n. Connor is an ass.” You turned around sharply, surprised to see Rebekah there.
“I… Rebekah, what are you doing here?” You asked rudely.
“I’m here to give you your dress and get you ready for the ball!” Rebekah smiled.
“I’m not going,” you mumbled, going back to getting your food.
Rebekah sped to you, grabbing your wrist. “Yes, you are. I don’t like you very much. I don’t like any of your family, but Kol seems to have taken an interest in you. I have no idea why, but I just got my family back and want to make everyone happy.”
“Well, I don’t like Kol. So you can tell him to shove off,” you said.
“Hm… No,” Rebekah grinned. “C’mon, you’re going to the ball whether you like it or not. Your sister and brother will also be there.”
“Another reason not to go,” you stated.
“Oh, please! If you don’t go I am sure Kol will kill Elena and Jeremy,” Rebekah said.
“No! I… I don’t want to. Kol doesn’t even like me. He just likes to piss off all my friends,” you said.
“Y/n, look at me,” Rebekah said. You looked at her dully.
“Kol likes you. Hell, I think he’s in love with you. All he talks about it you and quite frankly, it’s sickening, but a little heartwarming to see him care so much for someone. So, please, come to the ball. If you want to leave after a little bit, I’ll make sure you go without any issue. But just try it out,” Rebekah begged.
Your heart fluttered once you heard Kol might be in love with you. If you were completely honest, you had a little crush on Kol. How couldn’t you? He was charming, handsome, and even nice to you. You never pursued the crush because one, you were too shy for that. And two, you knew your family would kill you. But you knew Rebekah would just kidnap you and take you there, even if you said no again, so you deciding to say yes.
“Fine, I’ll go. But don’t expect me to have fun,” you mumbled.
Rebekah took her hand off your wrist, smiling widely. “Great! Let’s go and get you ready, we’re late.”
You nodded and went back to your room. Rebekah sat you down and did your makeup. Giving you a fox eye look with a red lip. She then got out your dress, to which you gasped at.  Your dress was a long red ballgown. The top of the dress had jewels all over, the skirt then puffing out like Cinderella’s. The sleeves of the dress were made to go across your shoulders, letting the top of your breasts and your collar bone show.
“Wow I… Wow,” you gasped.
“Amazing, right? You’ll be the belle of the ball! You’ll even outshine Elena, who’s dress is disappointingly gorgeous,” Rebekah smiled.
“Thank you,” you smiled.
“Of course! Now go put it on, I’ll help you with the back,” Rebekah said handing it to you.
You took it gently, going to your bathroom to get changed. You came out, letting Rebekah tighten the dress for you. You then slipped on your black heels that you were wearing earlier, and took a look at you reflection.
“Wow, I actually look like a princess,” you smiled.
“That you do,” Rebekah smiled. “Now let’s go. Our ride is waiting.”
You nodded, lifting up the bottom of your dress so you could walk. You and Rebekah walked out to the limo, going over to the Mikaelson house.
“Hey, Rebekah?” You asked. “Yes?” She answered.
“Why are you being so nice to me? Besides making Kol happy,” you asked.
Rebekah sighed. “Well, I think you’re good for my brother. You make him more bearable to be around. Kinder, warmer. A lot less murderous. I know you like him, too. I can see the way you look at him when you think no one is paying attention. He’s head over heels for you and I think you could be the same for him after tonight.”
“Good to know,” you smiled.
“Mhm. But don’t tell anyone I ever complimented you or helped you out tonight. I don’t need your friends thinking I have a good side,” Rebekah said.
You chuckled. “Alright, deal.”
You two arrived at Rebekah’s house, stepping out of the limo. Rebekah and you waked to the doors, opening them. As you stepped into the ballroom, all eyes went on you. Your entrance elicited gasps from everyone. You smiled shyly, your smile faltering once Elena, Damon, and Jeremy approached you. Rebekah left you to deal with your family.
“What the hell are you doing here!” Elena exclaimed.
“Having fun, El,” you answered.
“No, you need to go home now,” Damon said.
You shook your head. “No. Connor stood me up and Kol invited me to this thing, so I decided to take the opportunity.”
Elena’s angry face fell as she heard what Connor did. “Connor stood you up? That jerk!”
“It's okay. I’d rather be here and in this dress than with him and drunk,” you admitted.
“Need me to beat him up for you?” Jeremy asked. “I’m good baby bro, but thanks. Uh…. have you guys seen Kol?” You asked.
“Nope,” Elena said. “And I wouldn’t advise looking for him. He might kill you,” Damon frowned.
“No, I won’t! Like she said, I invited her here,” Kol said from behind them.
Damon turned, a grimace on his face. “Why?”
“Because I am in love with her,” Kol smiled, his eyes meeting you’s.
Your blood ran cold and you looked down, holding the skirt of your dress tightly.
“I’d like to dance with her, if that’s alright,” Kol said.
“No way,” Jeremy said. “You put a hand on her-”
“Jer, it’s okay,” you said. “I’ll shout if I’m in trouble. Please, just go.”
Elena sighed, “Fine. I have to go and see Esther anyways. Do not hurt her.” Elena warned Kol.
“I never would dream of it,” Kol smiled.
The three left, leaving you and Kol at the entrance. Kol approached you, you putting your head down again.
“You look ravishing, Y/n. If we were alone, I’d rip that dress off of you,” Kol said, looking over your figure.
“Thanks,” you chuckled shyly.
Kol put his hand on your chin gently, lifting your face up to meet his. “Don’t be so shy, Y/n. And don’t self-doubt yourself, either. I know that asshole Connor stood you up, but you are still the most beautiful, kind girl ever. He doesn’t deserve you anyways.”
“And you do?” You challenged.
Kol chuckled. “No, but I’m hoping you think differently.” He then offered you his hand. “Dance with me?”
“Sure,” you nodded, taking his hand hesitantly.
Butterflies threatened to rip out of you as you touched his hand. Goosebumps rushed up your arm as you grasped his hand. Kol walked you two to the ballroom floor. You put your free hand on his shoulder, him putting his free hand on your waist. You two swayed for a few moments until you broke the silence.
“So, um… How did you know Connor stood me up?” You asked.
“I had Rebekah spying on you,” Kol admitted.
“Wow, not creepy at all,” you muttered. “I wanted to be ready for if he stood you up, so Rebekah could then go and get you ready,” Kol explained.
“Makes sense,” you said.
Kol smiled at you, not being able to keep his eyes off of you. You kept adverting your gaze. Too nervous to actually look at him or more than 5 seconds.
“You’re very cute when you’re tense,” Kol complimented.  “Thanks. Not a lot of people think that,” you chuckled. “Well, those people are out of their minds then,” Kol said.
“Why do you like me?” You asked suddenly, looking at him. You had been wandering this all night, waiting until you were here with him to ask.
Kol smiled. “Well, you’re different. You’re not aggressive like your brother, or so moral like Elena. You’re quiet and calm. You think through things rather than be impulsive, which seems to be how everyone is around here. Your eyes are so beautiful, I get lost in them. When I see you smile, it makes my dead heart come alive. And when you do that hair-twirl thing, it’s so adorable. You’re also extraordinarily stunning, which is a big plus.”
Your heart skipped beats as he told you his reasons for liking you. As you looked at him and watched him pour his heart out, your liking for him grew. You subconsciously moved closer to him, too. Your body doing its own thing.
“Wow,” you breathed out. “You really um… Thought about this.”
“Well, you are all I think about. Besides who’s head I want to rip off,” Kol smirked.
“Gross,” you grimaced. “I’m kidding! But I’m serious about you. I’ve never liked someone as much as you, Y/n. I hope that I can prove that I’m a good choice for you,” Kol said.
“Well, you’re proving it now,” you admitted.
Kol grinned, “Fantastic.”
You two swayed in silence again. As the music got slower and slower, and the lights got lower and lower, you two moved dancing positions naturally. You were quite scared to move closer to him. You were already so close, practically hugging. But your bodies were like magnets, pulling each other close. So tried to go with everything and relax.
Both of your arms went around his neck and both of his hands wrapped around your waist and went to the small of your back. You two scooted in until your head was on his shoulder. You closed your eyes and breathed in his scent nonchalantly, enjoying his cologne. Kol nuzzled his cheek onto the side of your head, him also breathing in the scent of your shampoo.
You two danced for a while before Kol got an idea.
“Do you want to get out of here and go to the balcony?” Kol asked.
“You’re not gonna kill me, are you?” You joked.
“No promise,” Kol winked cheekily. You giggled, “Alright. Let’s go.” Kol nodded and kept his grip on your hand, walking you to the balcony. On the way, you took two glasses of champagne. You handed him one as you stepped out on the terrace. You put your elbows on the railing, sipping the champagne.
“So, why’d you bring me out here?” You asked.
“To gaze at the stars,” Kol answered simply, walking next to you.
“Hm,” you hummed, looking up at the night sky. “Did you ever stargaze back before you all were vampires?”
“Yes, all the time. It was one of my favourite things to do,” Kol said.
“That sounds nice,” you said. “It was,” Kol said.
“Do you ever miss being a witch?” You asked. Kol sighed, taking a sip of champagne. “Sometimes. But I love being immortal.” You smiled, “Makes sense. If I were a vampire, I’d be the same.”
Kol turned to you, “I can turn you.”
You shook your head, “No. I like being human. Being a vampire seems to complicated. Plus, I want kids.”
“Hm. Sounds nice having your little perfect, human life. I miss that,” Kol said.
“You were never human, though,” you smiled, turning to him. “Yes, but I was once mortal,” Kol said.
“True,” you nodded, taking a sip of your champagne. “Hey, um… I want to thank you for inviting me. I know I said I didn’t want to go, but I’m really glad I did. I’m having a really good time.”
“Of course. I knew you would. I know you’re not the girly-girl type, but every girl deserves to experience to dress up for a ball,” Kol said.
“I agree,” you nodded. “And I’m also glad that you are warming up to me a little bit. You’re not so much of a blubbering mess anymore,” Kol smirked.
You chuckled, “Yeah, I take a little to warm up to new people.”
“Well, I’m glad I’m that person you’ve warmed up to,” Kol said, stepping closer to you. He put his hand on your’s, looking at you flirtatiously.
You grinned at the moves he was making, deciding to make a move of your own.
You leaned into him, your eyes boring into his the whole time. You were standing toe-to-toe to him, your mouth parted as his eyes glowed dark brown. He smirked at you, his hand leaving your’s and settling on your waist. You wanted to move closer, but your skirt was so puffed out it restricted you from doing so. Kol noticed your slight frustration with your dress, setting his glass down, and putting his other hand on your waist, pulling you impossibly closer.
“Kol, my dress is too big,” you chuckled.
“Not too big for me to do this,” Kol grinned, leaning his head down.
Before you knew it, he was kissing you. Your eyes widened as his lips met your’s. A few moments passed before he pulled away, confused and scared.
“I’m sorry, I must have read the room wrong. I-” Kol started to apologise, but you put your hand on the back of his head and pulled him in again.
This time Kol was surprised. He didn’t waste any time in kissing you back, though. Your lips moved together in perfect synchronisation. It was like his lips were made for your’s as they fit in-between your’s like puzzle pieces. Both your fingers entangled themselves in his hair, pulling slightly as he pulled you impossibly closer. Your stomach did a million of flips as his tongue swiped your bottom lip. You opened your mouth slowly, Kol’s tongue slipping in gently. As your tongue’s fought, Kol’s hands went to your skirt, finding your legs under them. He put his hands under your thighs, lifting you up with ease.
You pulled away, breathing heavily. Kol’s eyes opened, going down to your lips and smiling as your lipstick was smudged. Your chest heaved up and down as you stared into his eyes.
“I just wanted to um… To tell you that i-if you were planning on having um, sex. I’m not ready. This um… This was my first kiss, too. Sorry if you were expecting to get lucky tonight,” you confessed, blushing profusely.
Kol smiled at you, setting you down. “It’s alright, love. I wasn’t expecting anything from you tonight. I hope your first kiss was good.”
“It was really good,” you giggled.
“Good. Now, do you want to continue to make out? Or we could go back out and dance,” Kol suggested.
“Um… can we dance again?” You asked, going back to your shy nature.
“Of course we can, darling,” Kol smiled, holding his hand out for you to take.
He led you to the ballroom. You two danced for a couple hours until you started to get tired. Kol drove you back home and you went into your house, Kol kissing you goodbye. You closed the door, smiling widely and squealing to yourself.
Your phone rang and you answered it immediately, seeing it was Karina.
“Hey! How did your date go?” She asked.
“Um…” you sighed, the feeling of Kol’s lips on your’s still there. You smiled again, fidgeting with your fingers.
“It was good. Really, really good.”

Part 1  Part 8
Just a heads up if you see Jenny it's meant to be Jenna I don't know what my brain was doing typing Jenny but I typed it to many times to know if I got all of them fixed. Okay enjoy the story.
I sat in the hall of the police station my leg bouncing. With Vicky disappearing everyone was being questioned. Good
thing is we were all on the same page. The story Damon told Jeremy was our story. Poor Matt just honestly didn’t know anything.
“Will you please stop that.” Elena says looking at me Jeremy currently talking to the sheriff AKA Caroline’s mom.
“I’m bored…” I say but stopping the leg bouncing.
“Your sister is right Octavia this is serious.” Aunt Jenna says  looking at me.
“I’ll be good.” I say laying my head back on the wall.
It only takes a moment for the door to open next to my head and for me to get called in. Feeling like a child getting in trouble I try to shake the feeling away as I sit down in front of Mrs. Forbes.
“You okay?” She asks looking at me.
“Yeah I just feel like I’m in trouble.” I say deciding to be as honest as I can.
“Is there a reason you should be in trouble.”
“No I don’t think so. I just never been questioned before.”
“Well you have nothing to worry about I’m sure. I’m just going to ask you a few questions then you are free to go.”
“Okay sounds good.” I say smiling.
“So the last you saw Vicky was at the school right?”
“Yes.”
“And you told Matt she spoke to you?”
“Yeah I was walking outside to get some fresh air and I was looking for Jeremy. I bumped in to her.”
“How was she acting?”
“Angry? Like something was bothering her like she couldn't control herself.”
“Did she hurt you?”
“No she just told me that she was going home. That she had something to do.” I say telling the same lie I told Matt.
“Do you have any idea what that might be?”
“No. I figured she was coming off something and wanted to rest or wanted to get another hit.”
“That was the last you seen of her?”
“Yes ma’am.” I say nodding and shrugging.
My heart was beating fast but I tried not to show it. There would be no way to explain what happened this was the best option for everyone. It didn’t help that Vicky killed Logan another body Damon had to get rid of.
“Just a few more. Matt said that Stephan came by looking for her. That they were having a fight.”
“That I don’t know about.” I say scratching the back of my neck.
“I was home with Jeremy getting ready for the party.”
“You really don’t know anything do you?” She asks sighing.
“Sorry I wish I could help.” I say taking a breath.
“Alright your free to go. Send your sister in?”
“You got it.” I say standing up and doing just that.
I told aunt Jenny I was gonna wait outside. When I really planned on taking a nap in the car. Anything to not have to sit there. Her and Jeremy decided to wait on Elena.
Stepping outside I close my eyes for a second the sun bright. Blinking I start down the steps when I see Damon walking towards me holding a box.
“What are you doing here?” I ask walking up to him earning one of his famous smirks.
“I have an appointment with the sheriff.”
“Oh well she's busy.”
“With what?”
“Questioning everyone about Vicky you made quite a mess.”
“If I do remember I was the one who cleaned it up.”
“I guess so.”
“So what did you tell them?”
“The truth. Vicky left town.” I say shrugging.
“Well that’s good to know.” He says smiling.
“It's better for everyone. So what’s with the box?” I ask looking down at it.
“Oh this? This is between me and the Sheriff.”
“Fine be that way. Sharing is caring.”
“How about I make it up to you?”
“How do you plan on doing that?”
Digging into his jeans he pulls out a silver charm bracelet it only having one charm on it. A bird. Looking closer I realize it’s a crow.
“You got me a charm bracelet?”
“I did. Not only that but that little bird there is stuffed full of vervain.”
“Why would you give me vervain.”
“In case my sister gets ideas about changing your mind about me.” He says shaking the bracelet.
“Do you want it or not?”
“Yes.” I say smiling and holding my hand out.
He might not know it but this meant a lot to me. I would always know that my mind, my thoughts were mine. That no one could take them away from me.
He drops the gift in my hand just as the police station door opens.
“What are you doing Octavia?” Elena asks quickly moving to stand next to me.
“Saying hello.”
“Well we are leaving.”
Sighing I drop my head.
“Fine. Goodbye Damon.”
“I’ll see you later Octavia.” He says smirking.
I roll my eyes knowing he is doing it to make Elena mad.
“Bye.” I say walking to the car Elena following me.
“I wish you would stop talking to him.”
“Why?”
“He is not good.”
“And Stephan is?”
“Yes!”
“Really because if he is so good why won’t you talk to him?”
“That…”
“Exactly.” I say getting into the car ignoring everyone.
By the time we got home I was calm down but still a little sour. Aunt Jenna clearly seeing it since she asked to talk to me in the kitchen.
“What’s going on with you and your sister?”
“She is trying to control me.”
“Why do you think she is doing that?”
“Because I keep talking to Damon and she thinks he's dangerous.”
“Well is he?”
“Probably yeah but I don’t care.”
“Octavia you shouldn’t get yourself in trouble with your family over a guy.”
“It’s not that Aunt Jenny. I don’t… Okay I might like him slightly but it’s not like that. He understands me. I can be myself I don’t feel like I’m being judged around him.”
“You feel like your being judged by me?” Elena asks walking into the kitchen.
“Yeah, your all high and mighty and I’m the messed up one.”
“O your not messed up.” Jenna says rubbing my arm.
“I feel like I am. I've changed and I feel like that’s a bad thing.”
“We've all changed. After everything we know now of course we are gonna change. I’m sorry if I made you feel bad. I just worry.” Elena says.
“I know.”
“Forgive me?”
“I guess.” I say shrugging.
“Good!” She says pulling me into a hug.
“Eww affection.” I say wiggling making Elena and Jenna laugh.
“You hug Jeremy all the time.” Elena says pulling away from me.
“Duh because he is the cool one.”
Laughing Elena shakes her head remind me or myself.
“Wanna go watch a movie in my room.”
“Sure if I get to pick it.”
“Nothing gross.” She says walking to the steps.
“What do you mean by gross?” I ask following her.
We were sitting on Elena’s bed halfway thru Pretty Woman when someone knocked on the door.
“Come in.” We both say at the same time then smile at each other.
The door opens showing Bonnie.
“Bon Bon! Come and get snacks.” I say holding up popcorn.
“Hey looks like you two are having fun.”
“Well she is being mopey but I’m in a good mood.” I say pointing my thumb towards a Elena.
“Why are you being mopey?” Bonnie asks climbing on the bed with us as I cut off the movie.
“It’s nothing. I can’t tell you.” She says sighing.
“Elena I’m a terrible friend.” Bonnie says making me confused.
“How are you a bad friend?”
“I've been in my own world lately. Caroline told me about you and Stephan.”
“Oh yeah that’s why she's been sad.” I say my eyes meeting Elena’s.
“It’s okay you've been busy with your grandma.”
“I want to make it up to you.”
“Just get my mind off it. I don’t want to think about Stephan or any Salvatore for that matter.” Elena says looking at me.
“What? You act like I got Damon in back pocket or something.” I say holding my hands up.
“I have an idea.” Bonnie says getting up closing the window.
“Whatcha doing Bon Bon you're not gonna kill us are you?” I ask when she picks up a pillow.
“What? No, just watch.” She says cutting the pillow and dumping the feathers on the bed.
Getting interested I sit up straighter.
“Okay there are no windows open right?” She says looking at us.
“Right.”
“No AC no wind.”
“Nothing.” I say nodding.
“My Grandma showed me this but before I show you you both have to promise not to tell anyone.”
“Is this a witchy thing?” I ask wiggling my eyebrows.
“Yes.” She says surprising me.
“I really am I witch but you can’t tell anyone.”
“I can keep a secret.” I say feeling excited.
“I promise.” Elena says looking shocked.
“Okay watch.” She says closing her eyes and holding her hand over the feathers.
I watch closely blinking when the feather starts to float.
“Oh my word….” I say a grin spreading across my face.
“I can’t believe this.” I say Bonnie smiling at us making all the feathers float.
“I believe you Bonnie. You really are a witch.” Elena says I nodding in agreement.
We spend the rest of the afternoon lazing in Elena’s room. Eating watching movies. It felt normal like hold times. I felt happy.
After Bonnie left I helped Elena clean up her asking to go with me to Stephan’s house.
“Why? I thought you didn’t want to see him again.”
“I need to talk to him. If I don’t I-.”
“I don’t want the mushy details I’ll go.”
“Really?”
“Yeah I’m the nice one remember.”
“Thanks.” She says smiling.
I bow and go get ready to leave.
When we got to the Salvatore home I got out of the car needing to pee and not wanting to wait in the car again.
“You know you should have called first.” I say walking up to the door and knocking.
“Why?”
“Because he might not be here.” I say as the door opens a blonde lady standing there in only a towel her hair wet.
“Oh uhh. Who… How…?” The woman asks looking shocked looking between us.
“Uhh it’s Stephan here?” Elena asks looking upset.
“He’s in the shower.”
“Oh..”
“Umm who are you?”
“Oh right.” I say getting her to look at me.
“Elena.” I say pointing at my sister.
“Octavia.” I say pointing to myself.
“Right…” The girl says.
“Do you want-.”
“Come Octavia you were right I should have called.” Elena says grabbing my arm and pulling me back to the car.
“Bye.” I say waving and following her.
When we got back home I stayed in the living room. I moved over to let aunt Jenna plot down next to us.
“Your wallowing.” She says looking at Elena.
“So are you.” I say earning a glare.
“Well I got dumped.”
“Well Logan’s a jerk.” Elena says playing with the blanket in her lap.
“You didn’t get a brush off Email saying see ya.”
“Wanna keep down over there?” Jeremy asks making us three turn around to see him at the table.
“Whatcha doing baby bro?” I ask him.
“Homework and it’s kinda hard with you three chatting so loud.” He says but not looking up from the papers in front of him.
“I think my brother is possessed.”  I whisper to Elena and Jenna.
“Alien?” Elena asks.
“Some sort of clone?” Jenna says looking at us.
“You know he can hear you?” Jeremy says smiling at us.
“Oh my gosh!” I say making everyone jump.
Climbing off the couch I move to hug Jeremy.
“What are you doing?” He asks looking at me.
“I’m so proud.” I say patting his head.
“And they think I’m the alien?” He mumbles returning to his homework.
“Fair point.” I say sitting next to him.
“Do you mind?”
“What I’m sporting you by doing my homework too.” I say digging in my bag that was sitting in the chair beside me.
“Fine just keep it down.”
I nod and smile at him happy to see him doing better.
It took some convincing but I got Elena to take my to the party at the grill tonight. She didn’t want to go after meeting the lady in the towel and even more so after Stephen showed up and  tried to talk to her. But I was not missing a party and she needed to get out more.
“I’m not gonna stand here and watch you watch your ex.” I say standing next to Elena her watching Stephan play pull the blonde. Him smiling and laughing.
“Stephan smiles alert the media.” Says Damon him standing next to me making me jump.
I don’t even say anything just swat at him earning a chuckle.
“You really haven't given him anything to be happy about.” Elena says glaring at Damon.
“Kids play nice.” I say literally standing between them.
“I wonder if it's tiring being so righteous.” Damon says then looks down at me.
“Be good.”
“Not likely care for a drink?”
“You buying?”
“If I must.”
“Why not.”
“Octavia.” Elena says grabbing my arm.
“No.”
“Elena why don’t you let your sister make her own decisions?”
“Because I don’t want her to be around a psychopath.”
“Ouch that hurts.” He says holding his chest.
“I’m still not sure what you did to Jeremy I’m not about to let you change her.”
“She can speak for herself.” I say pulling my arm out of Elena’s grip.
“What I did to Jeremy? I did exactly what you wanted.”
“He’s different.” She says crossing her arms.
“Well of course he’s different. You wanted him to forget about fangs and all the bad stuff. I took away his suffering Elena. He’s happy.” Damon says making me remember him this afternoon doing homework.
“Like really happy?” I ask making Damon look at me.
“Not a fake high happy.”
“He’s happy and will be.”
“Would it be weird if I hugged you?” I ask making Damon laugh.
“How about that drink?”
“Deal.” I say following him to the bar.
“So your sister still hates me?” Damon asks as we sit on the barstools.
“Oh how did you know?” I ask smiling.
“She thinks your gonna hurt me.”
“Do you think I’m gonna hurt you?”
“I think you could if you wanted but I’m not scared of you. Why should I be?” I ask as Damon orders us drinks.
I try not to take note that he compiled the guy not to ask for my ID.
“I did almost kill you.”
“Yeah but that’s forgiven.” I say smiling.
“You are a strange person.”
“We've had this conversation.” I say thanking the bartender when he sets the drink in front of me.
“So what am I drinking?” I ask looking at the glass with raspberries floating in what looks like iced tea.
“It’s called a cookie rookie you’ll like it.”
Taking a drink I shrug.
“Not bad. Given the fact I can’t taste the alcohol tells me I can get drunk of this really fast.”
“I’ll watch out for you.”
“Yeah because that's a good idea.” I say laughing.
“Elena?” Asks an unfamiliar voice making me look to the right of me seeing the blonde from before.
“Wrong twin. I’m Octavia and you are?” I ask holding my hand out to her.
“Lexi.” She says shaking it.
“Nice to meet you.”
“You too. Not to be rude but umm where is your sister?”
“None taken and umm….” I look around the room seeing her standing alone at a table making me feel bad.
“She is over there. Which I should probably be as well.”
“You don’t like my company?”
“No one dose Damon.” Lexi says glaring at him.
“Am I the only person that likes you?” I ask looking at him.
“Yes.”
“That’s probably a sign.” I say getting off the barstool.
“I’ll see you around Damon.”
I walk over to Elena Lexi soon following after me her apologizing to Elena and explaining that she is and vampire as well and that nothing is going on between her and Stephan.
“I can see why Stephan is friends with you. Your a cool person.” I say earning a smile.
“Thanks.”
“Welcome.” I say grinning.
“Well I’m gonna go..” She says guestering to Stephan.
“Have fun tell him I said happy birthday.”
“Sure thing.” She says walking back to the pool tables.
“Well she seems nice.”
“I feel terrible.”
Sighing I drop my head.
“Go make up with your boyfriend..”
“You sure?”
“Yeah I’ll go find some other person to bug.”
“Like?”
Looking around the room I see Bonnie.
“Bon Bon.” I say walking towards her.
“Hello lady.” I say sitting next to her in the booth.
“Hey.” She says smiling at me.
“How ya feeling?” I ask taking a drink.
“Fine? You?”
“Good. Maybe a little drunk but whatever.”
“Everything okay?”
“Mmhmm just thinking about my life choices.”
“Like what?”
“Well it seems I’m the only one who likes Damon and I feel like that's a sign.”
“Probably so.”
“Yeah it sucks too.”
“Why?”
“Nothing.” I say waving her off.
“You want another drink?”
“Yes.” I say smiling.
“I’ll be right back.” She says sliding out of the booth.
I don’t get to see what she brings back Elena rushing up to me and pulling me with her. Something was happening and I didn’t know what.
I follow her out the back door of The Grill and run around the side of the building. It takes a second to realize what’s going on.
Lexi was being dragged outside and the Sheriff was shooting her. I watched Lexi break free of the cops  and start to charge until Damon stopped her him shoving a stake in her chest. I watched her go stiff and fall over.
“What just happened?” I ask looking at Elena and Stephan.
“He killed her. My oldest friend.” Stephan says.
“Why I mean-.”
“Because he’s Damon and he destroys anything that matters to me. I’m gonna kill him.” Stephan says starting to walk off.
“Wait.” Elena says walking after him.
“You can’t kill him.” I say following them.
“Why not? He’s a monster he deserves to die.”
“Because he’s your brother. If you kill him you’ll be all alone.” I say making Stephan clench his jaw.
“Good it’s for the best.” He says disappearing.
I stand there shocked not knowing what just happened. Elena says she is going home which I nod to. I go back to The Grill needing to be around noise. I didn’t want to think about what just happened.
Damon was a jerk and didn’t do the right thing but he didn’t seem like a straight up murder. As if he could hear my thoughts he slid in the seat in front of me.
“You look troubled.” He says smirking.
“Don’t.” I say standing up him grabbing my wrist before I could walk off.
“Problem?”
“Why did you do it?”
“Do what?”
“Kill Lexi?”
“You saw that?” He asks shocked.
“Yeah… Why did you do it?”
“It’s all part of the plan.” He says shrugging.
“To make your brother miserable?”
“No sit down and I’ll tell you, or leave your choice.” He says letting my wrist go.
I stand there for a second then move to sit across from him.
“What plan?” I ask earning a smile.
“There are people in this town that know to much about us.”
“Us?” I ask feeling confused.
“Vampires princess.”
“Oh right.”
“I needed to get them off the tral. They needed a vampire for the murders I gave them one.”
“You couldn't have gave them Vicky? Why torment your brother?”
“Because Vicky would have lead them to Jeremy and Jeremy back to you. You didn't want that did you?” He asks moving to lean on the table.
“I guess not…”
“You seem tired you should go home rest.”
“I don’t know if I should be mad at you.”
“I would prefer if you were.” He says making me feel slightly hurt.
“I’m going home.”
“Goodnight princess.” He says smirking.
I get a taxi home feeling betrayed and like I betrayed Elena for talking to Damon. He killed Lexi for no reason but I didn’t want them to come after me or my family. I felt conflicted and angry and just tired.
When I got home I didn’t bother talking to Elena or anyone I just went to bed hoping tomorrow would be better.

Oh, Brother.
Aly sighed, feeling slightly betrayed that the new AP History teacher still hasn’t arrived at Mystic Falls. She half-listened to Mr.Tanner ramble on before her thoughts quickly wandered to the dream she had the night before. She let out a low strangled groan, running her hands through her hair.
It was just a dream, just as Jeremy had said. Logically, she knew that she had nothing to worry about. But she couldn’t ignore the likeness the dream invoked in her from the one she had when her parents died. She couldn’t ignore the  what-if . She shook her head, feeling surprised at herself for entertaining the thought.
Perhaps Aly was simply going crazy, and she needed someone to vent about her life.
“Ms. Gilbert?” came Mr.Tanner’s voice. “Surely you can enlighten us about one of the town's most significant historical events?” Aly snapped out of her daze, cursing inwardly. She had no idea what he was talking about- let alone the question.
“Not as good as you can?”
Mr. Tanner tsked, shaking his head in disapproval. Obviously unimpressed with her comment. “I expect this kind of behavior from your sister, Alyssandra. Actually, I did get this earlier today.” Aly almost scowled, sinking into her seat. She didn’t like his patronizing tone. “You should pay more attention.”
“I’m sorry, sir.” she gave him a polite smile. “Can you please repeat the question?”
He let out an exaggerated sigh. “There aren’t any real second chances in life.” Aly controlled the urge to roll her eyes. “Anyone? No one?” his eyes roamed around the class, they all wore the same bored look she had. They also shared the same relieved look when the bell rang, signaling the end of class. “Quiz tomorrow!” he barked out, much to their dismay. “Mystic Falls: A Century in Making, no one be late.”
Aly hurriedly went out of the classroom, heading straight to the lockers in the gym. She couldn’t contain her grin upon getting ready for the first Volleyball meeting they had for the season. Aly had reluctantly skipped out on both cheer and volleyball training over the summer after some talking with Aunt Jenna. Although she wasn’t as close to the girls in both teams as she was with her childhood friends, she was still glad to finally see them again.
“Maggie! Hey!”
Margaret Honkins, their new captain, and also their oldest member was the most supportive person Aly knew. She was also an inspiration, being that year's highest marking student. She was one of those people that simply had it all together and liked it when other people had it together too. The two hugged.
“Hey yourself, Aly.” she grinned. “It’s been so long! How are you doing now?”
“All good,” she assured her. She didn’t really want to go in the details. “You? How was summer training? Do we have anyone new? I’m sorry I haven’t kept in touch.”
“It’s fine.” Mags waved it off. “We do actually, come on. Lila! There’s someone I want you to meet!”
If there was anything Aly wanted to do at that moment, it was to get drunk right out of her mind.  Months, she thought. It’s been months-  and she wasn’t jealous. Just surprised. It wasn’t like he was the one that ‘broke up’ with her either. No, Alyssandra liked to be the one calling the shots. She chugged down the bottle of alcohol, angry at her own behavior. She rationalized that she just missed having sex and her guy best friend.
But Vicki fucking Donovan? Crackhead with no ambitions? After her?
“Easy there.” Bonnie clicked her drink with hers. “You’re gonna blow a hole down the floor with your glaring.”
Aly huffed. “I need a boyfriend.”
“And now you sound like Caroline.”
“Okay, maybe not a boyfriend.” she conceded. “But - just - you know, a buddy. A mutually respectful relationship with no strings attached. You would understand Bonnie-bear, after your first taste of-”
“Do not finish that sentence,” Bonnie warned. “I can’t believe you just said that. You want another drink?”
Aly sighed dramatically, handing the now empty bottle to her. “Thanks, mom.”
Bonnie froze, her hand grazing against hers, a faraway look entered her eyes. Aly frowned. “Hey,” she rushedly grabbed her by the arm. “Are you okay?”
Bonnie shook her head, blinking rapidly. “Yeah-” she choked out. “That was- that was really weird.” she met Alyssandra’s eyes “When I touched you I saw a man running to you.”
Alyssandra’s mouth goes dry almost immediately, her mind flashing back to her dream the night before. She sobered out quickly, hyper-focusing on her friend. “Was it a handsome man?” she joked, laughing. “I’d like that. It’s rather fitting, I think.”
“No,” she denied. “It wasn’t like that. It’s so weird, I had the same thing happen with Elena.”
“What?”
“There was this crow,” Bonnie frowned, looking confused as ever. “And it was following her. I-” she shook her head again. “You know what? I think I had too much to drink already. I think I should go home. It’s getting late anyway.”
Aly doesn’t let go of her. “Are you sure, Bonnie?” she asked, concerned. “I brought Jenna's car with, I can drive you if you’d like. Your house isn’t that far off from mine.”
“It’s fine.” Bonnie pried off her hand. “Thanks, Aly.” she smiled. “You probably should lay off already too.” she motioned to the bottle she was holding. Aly grimaced, nodding along.
“Yeah.” Aly watched as Bonnie hurriedly went out to her car. That was weird. In fact, that was more than weird. She shuddered, thinking of once again the dream she had the other night. Aly quickly banished it away from her mind. As far as she was concerned, it was only a dream. Maybe Bonnie just had too much to drink, as she’d said.
Aly dejectedly thought that she should probably stop drinking too, she still needed to drive after the party was over.
There were still people arriving, and a glance at her wrist told her that it wasn’t that late at all. No texts from Jenna to head home too. Bored, Aly decided to go search up for Elena. It didn’t take long to find her, she couldn’t help but release an unimpressed scoff upon seeing Matt once again trying to get back to her sister.
“When you broke up with me, you said it was because you needed some time alone.” Matt didn’t look happy at all. “You don't look so alone to me.”
“Matt you don’t understand, it’s-”
“That’s okay, Elena.” Aly made a quick runabout, wondering where Stefan had suddenly gone. He was insistent on hanging out with Elena earlier.  “You do what you have to do. I just want to let you know that…” he makes a move to grab her hand, but Elena lightly moves it away. “I still believe in us. And I'm not giving up on that.”
Thinking that the guy has done enough, Aly finally interjected.“Matt, stop bothering my sister. Elena’s no longer interested.”
“I don’t have to explain myself to you.” Aly was both surprised and taken back at his cold tone. “I’ll see you around Elena.”
Elena actually sends her a look after she just had saved her life. “That wasn’t very nice.” she scolded. “He had a point.”
Alyssandra made a face. “Oh- right, Stefan.”
“Don’t start.”
“I wasn’t going to,” she rolled her eyes. “I know why you really broke it off with Matt,” Elena pursed her lips “-don’t look at me like that, you weren’t ready then and you’re definitely not ready now- with Matt” she adds, “not in  relationships- in well, commitment.”
Elena sighed. “what makes you think that?”
Alyssandra shrugged, “I don’t know, Elena.” It was obvious in her voice that she was being sarcastic “I live with you. But I’m glad that that Stefan guy has you smiling.”
It was true, it’s only been a few days and yet Stefan seemed to have gotten under her sister’s skin. A week ago Elena would have refused to hang out at the Grill, and yet yesterday she had arrived with Stefan and a smile on her face. She had also laughed. It was nowhere near like the old playful Elena that they had, but it was a welcome change from the past few months.
“I don’t know.”
“If he makes you happy then it's good.” she said firmly. “There’s nothing wrong with opening up a little, Elena.”
Her sister sent her another look. “Right. You’re telling me that?”
“Where’s Romeo, anyway?”
Elena points to the side, Aly snickered upon seeing Caroline round-up Stefan. She giggled. “Poor guy.”
“I’m gonna go talk to him.” Elena declared. “It’s gonna go well, and I’ll be happy.”
Aly grinned. “Sounds like a plan!” Her sister took a shot, shaking her hands. She watched the two converse, taking note of Caroline’s pouty sulk in a corner, not at all surprised over her best friend’s behavior. It was amusing. Sadly, Mystic Falls was a rather small town, and Aly too knew the feeling of not getting any.
For a while, Aly entertained the thought of getting out of Mystic Falls. Not because of boys, but to just get away in general. She had lived there along with her siblings her entire life, and although their family used to take trips out of town, it would be nice if she had a change of scenery. She felt her heart painfully tug at the thought of her parents and she almost grabbed another drink.
Deciding to clear her thoughts, she made her way to the forest, liking its ambiance. The party faded off as she walked away. Growing up, she had always been the more adventurous sort. She had always liked the feel of the wind's breeze against her.
Once more, Aly entertained the thought of moving away. She certainly could take college outside of Mystic Falls, maybe even out of state. Maybe that could bring excitement back into her life, making her feel better.
A startled scream brought her out of her thoughts. Aly’s head quickly snapped to the source of the sound. That’s when she felt it, a creeping behind her back. She turned to check if there was someone behind her, her heart suddenly pounding. There was no one there.
She broke into a run when she heard Jeremy’s panicked voice.
“What-” she gasped. Jeremy held a bloodied Vicki Donovan in his arms, rushing out words as he tried to stop the bleeding. Aly quickly pressed her hand against the wound on her neck-  there was so much blood - she took off her headband, using it as a makeshift bandage. “We need to get her out of here,” she said, putting the girl’s weight against her own as she stood.
She suddenly felt extremely guilty from her thoughts earlier that evening.
“Vicki- Vicki stay awake!” Jeremy panicked. Aly’s stomach churned.
“Get a grip and hold her tight!” she snapped as they rushed out. “Somebody call 911!”
It was no surprise to see the Grill almost empty at this hour. Alyssandra drank her lemonade cocktail, lost in thought. Caroline sat across her, sniffling. Her friend was nursing her hangover. Aly felt the beginnings of a headache herself. The picture of Vicki’s semi-dead, bloodied, and unconscious body was still in her mind. Briefly, she thought that she should have come with Jeremy and Matt to the hospital. It didn’t feel right, however, she barely knew the girl.
“Are you sober yet?” she asked. Caroline mumbled a no. Aly sighed.
“Why didn’t he go for me?” she whined. “How come guys I want never want me? I just- ugh! How can you stand it? Elena’s just so perfect.” she huffed, Aly winced. “Always saying the right thing! She doesn’t even have to try for a guy to pick her!”
Aly still had bloodstains on her clothes, and she didn’t dare to take back her neckerchief from Vicki’s neck when the ambulance arrived. She blinked. “I don’t know, Care.”
“He had Aly and Elena and he went for her!” she cries out. Alyssandra had to admit, the sound of her voice did not help her headache. “Aren’t you sick of always getting chosen out of your sister?”
Aly winced again, trying to piece a response to her distraught friend. There was truth in her words. Elena was kinder, softer. Although there were moments where she was the same, Elena had always been the easier one to get along with. She did feel sad whenever Elena got more attention- but she made up for it by simply having more things to do than her sister. Speaking of, Aly was supposed to attend a talk in Whitemore that weekend.
“It’s not always.” was all she replied.
“I just wanna be picked first.” Caroline huffs.
Aly sighed once more, she’s been doing it a lot these days. “Caroline,” she held her hand so that the blonde would look at her, “You’re different and special in so many other ways that it doesn’t matter who picks Elena or why. You’re amazing. Nothing’s gonna change that. You don’t need to bend your will just for some new emo guy. Someday you’re gonna meet someone and he won’t spare a glance to anyone else and that’ll be because he’s looking at you.”
That didn’t seem to work at all. If anything, it aggravated her further. Caroline glared at her, scoffing. “You sound just like her!” with that, she storms away. Probably to the restroom.
She’s your best friend. Aly told herself. The bestest ever. She’s just drunk right now. You don’t have to leave her alone in the Grill.
“You alright there?” The voice caused her to jump. Her lemonade juice slugged around her cup.
It was a dark-haired man, probably in his mid to late 20s. He had the lightest blue eyes Alyssandra has ever seen. His leather jacket was crisp, and she could smell his cologne despite being a few feet away. He was hot. He was hella hot. There was an air of boyish charm around him that Aly wasn’t sure she liked or not.
Aly shrugged in response, taking another sip from her drink. He took Caroline’s seat, smirking. Aly thought that he’d make a very cute boy toy. “What do you want?”
There was a look of surprise that flashed through the man’s face, as though he did not expect her answer. “You seem like you had a fight with your friend there.”
Aly thought that if she took him, Caroline would get way more pissed. She lets out an uncommitted humm. “Who are you?”
“Damon Salvatore.” There was that same smirk again as he reached out his hand. She raised an eyebrow.
“Aly Gilbert.” she shook his hand. “Any relation to Stefan Salvatore?”
“He’s my brother.” he waved a hand, almost as if being related to Stefan was a fleeting thought. “Isn’t it a little late to be drinking?”
“It’s barely a shot. she scoffed, eyeing him. She wondered if Stefan really was his brother. “I haven’t seen you around here before.”
Damon grinned. He was definitely boyish. “We’re both new in town,” he explained. “Living up with our Uncle Zach. I thought it’ll be nice to introduce myself to the locals.” Aly knew Zach Salvatore, she’d sometimes go to him whenever she needed reference materials. She had also stayed in their library more often than not.
The place was spooky though.
“Isn’t it a little late for introduction?” she mocked. Damon grinned, suddenly leaning in. He looked directly at her eyes. Aly felt a shiver go through her spine.
“You want to get out of here.”
She couldn’t help but give him a coy smile at his abrasiveness. Perhaps she was drunk, she thought as she leaned in as well. She hoped that he was actually a Salvatore and not some kind of serial killer. “I barely know you,” she whispered. Leaning back, she took another sip from her drink. “You can ask your brother for my number if you’d like,” she said, standing up.
She missed the shocked look in his face.
Aly made a move to follow Caroline in the bathroom when he was suddenly right in front of her. Aly looked from his seat then back to him. “I can ask you now,” he said, he had a calculating look in his eye.
Damn. She barely knew him! He stood extremely close to her, and an alarm bell rang inside her mind. It exhilarated her. She was baited. “Where’s the fun in that?” she asked, leaning away from him. Making sure to give him an unimpressed look. She sidestepped him, making sure that she actually reached Caroline this time.
Alyssandra really, really,  really , hoped that Stefan was actually his brother.
  “Enjoying the fields?”
She turns around, carrying her skirt as she did. Another dream? Her mind wondered. She grinned at the man, feeling pleasantly surprised and confused. “Damon,” she greeted. “What brings you out?”
“I followed you, of course,” he said, grinning. Aly couldn’t help but see the difference between this smile from the one in the Grill. It was softer, more adoring. It also lacked the intense glint he had shown earlier. Aly turned, moving in a sprint.
“Then catch me, Damon!” she yelled out, running away from the man. “Catch me if you can!”
Jeremy Gilbert sent you a message

Irritated, Aly jammed her phone to her back pocket. It turns out, Jeremy’s little fling with Vicki wasn’t just a fling. Her brother had fallen hard. It explained why he was with her in the woods a couple of nights before. Alyssandra had no idea what to do to help him. Jenna had told her that he had skipped school since it started (which was odd, because she still saw him around campus) and that his drug usage was now off the charts.
She didn’t want to have him sent away into rehab, it didn’t feel right. They just needed to talk, and her brother just needed to listen. He’s still hurting over their parents' deaths.
“Are you alright?” Elena asked.
Aly hummed, handing another flyer to the townspeople. Caroline had set them up to help for the festival later that day. “Thinking about Jer.”
Elena’s face fell.
“He’ll get over it.” Bonnie insisted. “I mean, Vicki seems fine, right? Maybe this is a good thing.”
“Did your witchy powers tell you that?” Aly asked, feeling tired.
“Well-” Bonnie grimaced, backtracking. “Do you know what my witchy powers tell me? Stefan.” Aly glanced at her twin, confused. Elena gave her a sheepish look. “I just don’t trust him!” Bonnie continued, “There’s just something off.”
“He’s a little weird.” Aly agreed, thinking back to their last meeting. Then again, she had only seen him twice.
“Totally! There’s just something off with him, you know?”
“I don’t know,” Elena said, exasperated. “I have an idea. How about dinner? At our house. Aly can make food while we ruin the living room.”
“I actually met his brother, Damon’s his name, I think.”
Elena looked at her, surprised. “You did? When?”
Bonnie snickered. “Oh yeah, I remember Caroline mentioning that. She said he’s hot.”
“He looks like a bad boy wannabe.” Aly rolled her eyes. “Dresses too young- smells like expensive cologne. But yeah sure, hot.”
“I saw him at the Salvatore Boarding House,” Elena explained. Bonnie suddenly laughed.
“You guys can have one of each.”
When the sun was just about to set, the trio went back to find Caroline- Bonnie was quickly explaining to Care what her grams thought of the comet. To Aly’s complete surprise, a lot of tourists had come to their town. They had set up a food park as well, and a lot of chatter went around as the night sky became brighter and brighter.
Caroline had linked their arms together as they walked, probably a sign of apology for what happened the other night. Alyssandra smiled.
“So, there’s an upcoming game coming soon,” Caroline started, “-and I hear that you got yourself in a band.”
“I’m not in their band, Caroline. I just hung out with Jenny and her friends.”
Caroline hummed, disbelief evident in her tone. Alyssandra rolled her eyes at her friend, but it quickly turned into a  look  when she realized where exactly she had led her. Jamie Conningham stood in front of her, candle in hand and with a sweet smile on his face.  “I’ll leave you two alone,” said Caroline, ignoring the playful glare that Alyssandra sent her.
“I’m surprised you’re here,” she told him, taking a step closer. He hands her a lit candle.
“Why?”
“You don’t seem like the type” she admitted. She had imagined him hanging out somewhere in the dark instead, where loud music blared in a room filled with smoke. “I kind of imagined you more like a typical band boy.”
Jamie laughed. “And how’s a typical band boy supposed to act?.” He takes another candle from one of the baskets, letting Alyssandra light it up.
“I don’t know.” she answered, “All emotional? More loud noises, less holding candles as a comet goes by?”
“This is completely emotional material.” He said seriously, “You see that comet?” he points up to the night sky, to a crescent moon and a pretty rock. “That is completely brooding material.”
“Oh?”
“Oh definitely,” he nodded, smiling softly.  “Tell me, Aly, doesn’t that inspire you to write something.”
She stared up, letting the breeze take her away for a moment. She had to admit, it did look beautiful. They were lucky they had a clear night sky to see it. “A friend of mine told me that thing’s a harbinger of evil.”
Perhaps in another universe, a bunch of witches have gathered around to use it to open some kind of portal. That’s what Sheila Bennett seemed to believe, anyway.
He laughed again, it was soft and sounded more like a chuckle. “You should write that down. Come on,” he grabbed her hand. “Why won’t you sing something in Mystic Grill?”
Aly snorted. “No thanks,” she said. “I’d rather stay out here.”
“Come on,” he playfully nudged her by the shoulder. “For a day like this? I think the world would love to hear your voice.”
“Nu-uh?” she laughed, pushing him away. “I’m not really in the mood.”
“You heard the lady.”
Both Jamie and Aly turned around. She couldn’t help but be surprised upon seeing Damon Salvatore holding up a candle on his own. “Though I didn’t really know you could sing.”
“It’s not a big deal.” she denied, eyeing him. With a sober head, Aly could say that yes, Damon was attractive. He had a strong jawline, and he knew how to dress his lithe frame. Clad in black, it seemed to make his light blue eyes pop out more. His picture portrayed a dark aura surrounding him. Definitely a boy toy.
“Not a big deal?” Jamie echoed. “It’s a huge deal! She’s joining our band. We’re gonna end up selling out everywhere.”
Aly blushed, laughing. “You’re getting ahead of yourself.” It’s been a while since she had last sang in front of a large audience. It was only until recently she had finally allowed herself to start it up once more. And even then it was only for small groups, Jenny’s band was good, but they were more into the recording part than performing.
Aly quite liked that.
Damon hummed, stepping closer. “I’d love to hear it!” he clipped. “But I actually want to talk to Aly here.” Damon grabbed Jamie by the arm, looking directly into his eyes. Aly frowned. “You’re gonna leave us alone.”
Jamie blinked. “I gotta go.” he gave her a wave. “See you around Aly.”
“You’re not actually gonna listen to-”
He was gone.
Aly looked back to Damon, who was smirking. “Okay?” she said, confused. She shook her head. “Do you wanna talk about something?”
“Is he your boyfriend?”
Aly raised an eyebrow, giving him a once over. “I don’t date. So, how’s Mystic Falls fairing you?”
“Oh it’s not my first time around here. Candle?” Aly walked closer to him, lighting his candle. “Stef and I actually spent some years here.” he said, “Though we only did just get back.”
“Are you telling me you actually choose to go back to Mystic Falls?”
Damon smirked, “What? Mystic Falls not enough for you?”
Aly shrugged, taking a good look around the Towns Square. “I’m just too used to it.” she admits, “I think a change of scenery would be nice.”
“Al says that all the time.” Elena came up behind them. “But I think she forgets that when we were kids, she cried everytime we left town.”
Alyssandra sent her sister a look, her mind flashing back to much simpler times. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Mystic Falls is my home,” said Elena, grinning. “I’m meeting my forever here.”
Aly groaned, putting her hands to her face. “Shut up!” she whined. “God, ‘lena. That’s not- no.”
“That sounds adorable.” Damon cooed. “Do you still do that?”
She sent them both a glare as they laughed. “No, I don’t.” she snapped.
“That does sound cute. Damon, what are you doing here? Last I heard you’re not really one for social gatherings.” Aly almost gave Stefan a look, what was up with people today and suddenly butting in people’s conversations?
“Last time I heard you can’t do social gatherings at all.”
Aly didn’t miss the glare the younger Salvatore brother gave to Damon, she also didn’t miss the pinched expression his face wore. Elena and Alyssandra shared a look. Siblings. Figures.
Stefan gave them a smile. “Elena, Aly, Damon and I are just gonna have a little chat, if that’s alright?”
Aly shrugged, grabbing her sister’s arm. There was definitely some history going on there. Judging by Elena’s face, she was well aware of what was going on. “Alright, spill.” she said after they got a good few meters away.
“Some old ex issue.” Elena grimaced, they both discarded their candles as they went in the Mystic Grill. “They were talking about the same thing back in their house yesterday.” she sighed.
Aly ooo’d. “What do you think that’s about?” she asked, interest piqued. She let out an exaggerated gasp. “Did they date the same girl?”
Elena snorted. “No.” she said, but then she frowned. “No, I don’t- I don’t think so. I hope not.” Elena sighed once more. “Her name was Katherine.”
“Well that explains Stefan’s broodiness.”
“He’s not that broody.” Elena denied. “But it’s fine, we talked and it was nice but now it’s over.” she pursed her lips, dejected.
Aly groaned. “Stop.” she said, “Lighten up, ‘lena. Just give it some time. School’s barely started. You have no idea what the future holds.”
It wasn’t hard to find the rest of their friends in the Grill. They were already huddled together at a table. For a moment, Aly and Tyler’s eyes meet. They both looked away. Elena still looked sore over Stefan and Damon’s conversation. Briefly, Aly wondered if Stefan was still hung up over the girl. Maybe she should give him a talk.
They were just about to start their first round of drinks when Jeremy had come up to them, demanding where Vicki was. They immediately formed a search party in the hopes to find her.
“Jeremy!” Aly called, running up to her brother. “Jer!”
“What?” he snapped. Aly couldn’t help but wince as she sped up next to him. Jeremy smelled a lot like smoke and alcohol. Elena followed them in tow, throwing their brother an angry glare.
“You are not going anywhere. You’re coming with me. So is that your game now, dealing?”
Aly winced once more, Elena had her ‘I’m your older sister, holier-than-thou’ voice on. Jeremy clearly didn’t like it either.
“I’m not dealing.” he denied.
“Look,” Elena started, “I’m sick of the tough love speech, Jer. It clearly has no impact.”
“We’re just worried about you, Jeremy.” Aly quickly rushed. Damage Control. “You don’t have to keep on doing this.” Jeremy scoffed, she backtracked. “Vicki? Let’s go find Vicki.”
“Don’t even bother, Alyssandra.” Elena scowled, pulling her back. “Jeremy clearly doesn’t want or need our help.”
“What the hell is your problem?”
“We can stop if you want,” said Elena harshly, her grip on Aly’s arm tightened. “Send you to a therapist where you'll be forced to deal with it or to rehab where you'll sit in a group and tell some stranger how you let your life fall apart. Or you could talk to me.”
Jeremy sent Aly a look, she wasn’t sure if it was pleading or angry. They stared at each other for a moment, but before she could say anything Jeremy angrily snapped. “I vote for none of the above.”
He stalked off, back hunched. Aly couldn’t help but feel lost. Jeremy used to be such a calm-headed boy. He would spend most of his time making art and playing games. Now he was out all the time getting high and skipping school.
“Let’s go home,” said Elena sadly.
Aly shook her head. “You go ahead.” she tells her, “I’m joining the search party.”
“Are you sure?”
Aly looked back to the form of their brother, nodding. “Yeah.” she said.
It was the least that she could do.

Part 1  Part 6
I woke up my head throbbing. I open my eyes my heart speeding up as I don’t know where I am. I jump when Damon’s face apears him standing over me.
“About time one of you wake up I was so bored.” He says sighing.
“What’s going on?” I ask sitting up quickly regretting it when the world spins around me. Damon grabs my shoulders steadying me.
“Careful don’t need you blowing chunks all over the floor.”
“I’m not sick…” I say memories of last night coming back to me.
I was in the woods he was there he attacked me. No he bit me.
“You bit me.” I say looking up at him my lip quivering. Not from fear more like desguist.
“Duh I was starving.” He says plopping down on the couch across from me.
“Your not human.”
“Really? What gave you that idea?”
“Don’t be an ass.” I say lifting my hand to touch my neck hissing at the pain.
“I could take care of that.”
“How? Feeding off me till I die?” I ask looking around I was in a very large house it decorated with old things.
“Where am I?”
“My house. That’s right you've never been here before. Would you like a tour?”
“Why are you so weird?” I ask holding my head.
“You need some OJ. Here.” He says suddenly in front of me holding a glass of orange juice.
“Wha- How did you do that?”  I ask confused.
“Would you like the truth?” He says tilting my head to look at him.
“Yes.”
“I’m a vampire.” He says smiling his eyes changing colors, dark veins coming from them and his teeth growing to fangs.
“That’s not possible.”
“And yet here I am. Do you want this or not?” He says swirling the glass in front of me.
I take it from him drinking it.
“I’m sure you have questions feel free to ask. I've got time.” He says sighing once again sitting across from me.
I look to the left of me jumping when I see Vicky laying there.
“Ignore her. She's just sleeping.”
“Why not kill us?”
“You, I have plans for you and her well I might need another snack.”
“That’s disgusting.”
“I have to eat same as you princess.”
I don’t say anything not knowing what to say to that.
“What plans do you have for me?”
“If Stephan doesn't bring me back my ring I’ll probably kill you.” He says making me heart speed up.
“Relax you have until sundown we can party until then if you want.”
“Why would I do that?” I ask finishing my juice and setting the glass down on the end table.
“You've never partied with me before.” He says smiling.
“Why would you kill me over a ring?”
“It’s my daylight ring. Without it I can’t go out in the sun.”
“So vampires really burn in the sun? What about garlic?”
“Myth but verain packs a punch. That’s how I landed myself in the cell. You remember that finding me there. Why did you follow Caroline?”
“She's my friend. I guess Elena was right you were hurting her.”
“She liked it. I had not intentions on hurting her just feeding until I got bored.”
“Then what?”
“Then I would have killed her. I still might but that’s for another day.”
“Why are you telling me all this?”
“Because princess your not going to do anything about it.”
“How do you know?”
“As far as I know your dear sister knows nothing about us and you want to keep it that way.”
“Are you blackmailing me?”
“Blackmail? With what? You haven't killed anyone have you?” He says smirking.
“Here I thought I might like you.” I say holding my head.
“Aww you like me? That’s sweet but I don’t really do the whole love thing.”
“Let me guess Katherine?”
“Oh you are a smart one.” He says looking me up and down.
Feeling uncomfortable I pushed myself up not feeling so dizzy but my head was still hurting.
“Do you have an painkillers?”
“Let check.” He says standing up and walking over to me.
“I have something better if you want to try?”
“What's that?”
“My blood.”
“Why would I drink your blood?”
“Because not only will stop that headache of yours it’ll heal that nasty bite.”
“What do you get out of it? Something tells me your not doing this out of the kindness of your heart.”
“Oh come now Octavia I’m not that bad. I don’t want you passing out on me.” He says tilting my head up to face him.
“Will it turn me?” I ask curious.
He said he wasn’t going to kill me but I didn’t see the point and pissing him off.
“Of no. You'd have to die with my blood in your system then feed on human blood to turn. You’ll stay completely human just feel amazing.” He says grinning his blue eyes seeming to swallow mine.
“Okay.” I say slightly blushing. I don’t know why but I wanted to see what it would do.
“Wonderful.” He says biting into his wrist and holding it out to me.
I slowly take his hand being cautious. Just as I was about to wrap my mouth around the wound a phone ran making me jump.
In a second Damon was on the other side of the room picking up a cell and answering it.
“Hello brother.” He says.
I stand there watching him walk around the house chatting.
“Oh me i’m just at home spending some quality time with your girlfriends lovely sister. She really is sweet.” He says winking at me making me blush.
Thinking about what I was just about to do I wrap my arms around my torso feeling embarrassed. I turn and walk towards the steps Damon not noticing or seeming to care.
I walk up them and quickly find a bathroom.
I close the door behind me shivering for some reason. Looking at myself I look exhausted. My skin is pale and I have bags under my eyes. Having no makeup on makes me feel naked. Looking down at myself I realized I’m dressed. No longer in a bikini I’m in a buttoned up shirt and sweats. I blush knowing Damon was the one to put them on me. I still had my bikini on so maybe it wasn’t so bad.
I lift my curls to see a blood dried mark on my neck.
“I got you good huh?” Asks Damon making me jump.
“Must you do that?” I ask looking at him thru the mirror.
“Do what?” He says smirking.
“Scare me it’s rude.” I say getting a rag wet.
“Here let me make it up to you. I’ll hold your hair back.” He says moving into the small half bath slipping my hair from my shirt and pulling it up.
I ignore my racing heart trying to focus on cleaning my neck.
“You know I can hear your heartbeat. Your nervous but not scared of me.”
“Why should I be scared? You told me you weren't going to kill me.” I say meeting his icey eyes.
“True but I could.”
“Go ahead.”
I watch and feel him drop my hair him spinning me around to face him.
“Do you want to die?”
“Sometimes.” I say honestly.
“Elena has normal to get back to and Jeremy as drugs. I have nothing.”
“I could give you something to live for?”
“What?”
“Whatever you want.”
“I could compel you to be happy.”
“What’s that?”
“Oh just a little thing vampires can do. Mind control you into believing or doing whatever I want.”
“No thanks.” I say turning around before I let myself entertain the thought.
“I'd rather be myself and miserable then happy and be fake.” I say looking down at the skin. It stained red from the wet blood stained rag.
“What are you two doing?” Asks a new voice.
I turn to see Vicky standing her looking normal dare I say happy.
“You got a shower I can use?”
“Third door on the right.” Damon says pointing.
“Thanks.” She says walking away from us.
“You gave her your blood?” I ask looking at him.
“I’ll probably regret it later but why not?”
I roll my eyes and open the medicine cabinet over the sink happy to see painkillers and a first aid kit.
“You disapprove?”
“Your just a little much.” I say taking two pills.
“Well forgive me. Want me to patch you up?”
“Promise not to feed of me?”
“I promise.”
I follow him back to the living room and sit down him sitting next to me.
“Can I ask you something?” I ask leaning my head to the side so my hair stays out of the way.
“Ask whatever you like.” He says pushing away stray strands making me shiver.
“How did you get like this? I mean you weren't born like this right?”
“If you mean incredibly handsome yes I was born this way. But if you mean a vampire then no I wasn't. I was made.”
“By who?”
“Katherine.”
“Is that it? No story to tell?”
“Do you want to know the story?”
“Kinda yeah.”
“Very well but it’s not a happy one.”
“I was born June 18th 1839. But I wasn't turned until 1864. You asked if Katherine was the one to turn me and yes she was.”
“You talked about her like she just died.”
“It sometimes feels that way.” He says clenching his jaw.
“Me and my brother was well brothers until she came along. She didn’t want just one of us. She wanted us both until she just wanted Stephan.” He says finishing the bandage on my neck.
“She played you?”
“I knew what she was. Stephan didn’t. She compelled him to love her because she couldn’t let him go.” He says putting everything back in the box.
“You really loved her didn't you?”
“*It doesn't matter now. It’s in the past. She’s dead I’m not. I don’t see the point any mopping about it.” He says standing up just as Vicky comes bouncing down the stairs.
“Oh my gosh that shower was amazing.” She says drying her hair her only dressed in her underwear.
“Oh hey you're still here.” She says smiling at me.
“Now Vicky why would she leave?” Damon asks moving to stand in front her.
“She wants to spend time with me just as much as you do.” He says stroking her cheek.
“Okay.” She says smiling.
“What did you give me? I feel amazing?” She says grinning.
“My blood. You loved it.” He says keeping his eyes on hers. Vicky looking like she couldn’t look away.
“Your compelling her.” I say Damon holding his finger up asking for one minute.
“I’ll be with you in a moment.” He says dropping his hand.
“Can I like have another hit?” She says smiling.
“Only if I can.”
Giggling she sticks out her wrist. I watch as Damon bites into her wrist and hands it out to her them both drinking from each other.
I turn my head to look at the floor not wanting to see that. I feel embarrassed and don’t know why.
“Now what’s going on in that little head of yours?” Damon asks making me jump him suddenly right beside me.
“Stop doing that.”
He laughs and leans closer to me making me blush.
“Your jealous.”
“Hardly.” I say standing up to get away from him.
“Believe what you want Octavia but I know.”
Rolling my eyes I spot the table of different drinks. Picking up a glass Damon walks over to me as I pour it.
“Oh I don’t think so princess. You need food before you start trying to get drunk.”
“Fine. Wheres the kitchen?”
“Follow me.”
It doesn't take long for both Vicky and Damon to turn on the music and start dancing. I sit on the couch drink in hand watching them. It takes a few for me to join in on the fun.
Taking my hand Damon spins me around making me giggle.
“I like you better this way. Don’t be so uptight.”
“I’m not uptight.” I say a giggle in my voice.
I dance around the house and stop when I step in something. Looking down I scream at the dead crow in the floor.
“Oh I forgot about that.” Damon says over my shoulder.
“You a ate a crow?”
“No. I drank one. Pity too he kept an eye on things.”
It takes a second for it to dawn on me but I realize that he is talking about the crow that always seemed to be around.
“You killed him?” I ask turning around.
“I liked him.” I say feeling slightly sad from my companion.
“I can always compel other one for you.”
“I don’t want one now that I know you used it to spy on me. I changed in front of that bird.” I say huffing making Damon laugh.
Pushing him out of my way I walk back into the living room.
“Oh come on princess let me make it up to you.” He says dancing up to me.
“How?”
“We can go destroy my brothers bedroom.”
“That’s fun to you?”
“You've never wanted to trash your sisters room?”
“I wanna do it!” Vicky says bouncing next to us.
“I can’t tell if it’s the blood or the drinks that’s making her so hyper.”  I say both of them smiling at me.
“Lets go.” She says pulling Damon towards the stairs.
I follow them dancing to the loud music enjoying feeling free. Taking my hand Damon pulls me down the hall and up the steps into a bedroom.
We all start throwing things around. Me and Vicky jumping on the bed beating each other with pillows.
“Damon come on.” I say when I see him stop.
Stepping of the bed I walk towards him seeing him holding something. I look around him to see my smile leaving my face.
The picture is a picture of me but it’s not me. It looks old and faded.
“Who’s that?” I ask him.
“Katherine.”
“The woman who made you? She looks just like me.”
“Why do you think Stephan went after Elena. Katherine died. Now he has her once again.”
“And you?”
“Don’t flatter yourself princess. Your nothing like Katherine.” He says it hurting me slight.
“I’m bored.” Vicky whines her laying on Damon.
“Well why don’t you dance with me.” He says spinning around and taking her into his arms.
I leave them alone and head down stairs. Everything Damon has told me in the past few hours swinging inside my liquor filled brain. I sit on the couch my head spinning.
I don’t know I’m asleep until I feel someone touching my face.
“Oh there you are. To much to drink huh?” Damon asks me.
“What time is it?” I ask sitting up.
“Oh one or so?”
“What?” I ask looking at the window seeing it pitch black outside.
“Relax I got my ring back. Besides I really wasn’t going to kill you.”
“I’m not worried about that I’m in so much trouble I've been gone for like almost two days.”
“Don’t worry I went by your house Elena knows your here.”
“My house? Why did you go to my house?”
“To get you some clothes and I wanted to see if my brother was there.”
“You didn’t..”
“Hurt Elena? No just a little chat.”
“I bet she's pissed at me.”
“I think she was more upset with me but what can you do. People find out your a vampire and treat you differently.”
“Well you kinda kill people.”
“Only when I have to. I prefer drink erase their memories and go on my way. But the other night I was barely holding on.”
“So you chose me of all people?”
“Wrong place wrong time sweet heart. I did try to be gently.” He says making me blush for some reason.
Smiling he hands me a backpack.
“Here is your clothes. Get dressed I’ll take you home.”
“Okay.” I say standing up and walking towards the steps.
“Umm wheres Vicky?”
“Oh her she wanted to leave so I let her go. I didn’t see the point in keeping her away from Jeremy. There dating now I think.”
“Good. Maybe he’ll cheer up. He’s always had a thing for her.” I say smiling and walking up the stairs.
I go in the bathroom and change everything I learned today running threw my head. It was a lot to take in but I was starting to understand it I think. Damon was a vampire and he killed people. But I wasn’t afraid of him. Maybe I was more messed up then I thought. Or maybe I just understood him. Either way Elena was gonna be mad.

Part 1
Walking back into the house I smiled softly when Aunt Jenna jumped.
“Back so soon?” She asked putting the pint of ice cream down.
“Yeah, not as fun when your sister is drooling all over some guy.” I say lifting a shoulder in a shrug.
“Oh, you don’t like the guy?”
“Not that. Not that at all. I just wanted to….” I stop not knowing what to tell her.
“I understand. Just get some rest.” She says smiling softly.
“Thanks Aunt Jenna I’ll be in my room if you need me.” I say moving to walk up the stairs.
When I got into my room I closed and locked the door. Deciding to follow through with what I told Matt I went and sat at my window pulling my sketchbook from my bag.
Bending over I opened the window enjoy the warm air while we had it. Laying my book down I moved around my room getting ready for bed.
Catching my reflection in the mirror I sighed at the way I looked my eyes catching every scar I had. Shaking my head, I quickly moved to my closet grabbing something to sleep in.
Not bothered with washing my face I sat back at the window to finish drawing.
Walking into the house after walking from school I see Elena digging threw her closet.
“Do I wanna know?” I ask making her jump.
Laughing softly she playful glares at me.
“I’m going to the bonfire tonight. I think you should come to, it will be nice to get out. Have fun.” She says shrugging a smile on her face.
Sighing I drop my head looking at my feet.
“I’ll go get ready.” I say not wanting to put up a fight and it's not like I have any plans anyways.
I stood next to Bonnie dressed in heeled boots, black skinnies, and a corset graphic top. My leather jacket not doing much for the wind that would blow threw every now and then, making me thankful for the fire.
We were currently talking about Stefan, Elena not admitting she likes him.
“Okay, I guess he is little pretty.” She says holding her hands up as a surrender.
“He has the romance novel stare.”
“Yeah, he does, like he can see your deepest desires.” I say laying it on thick making Bonnie and Elena laugh.
“So where is he?” Bonnie says making me look around.
“I don’t know you tell me you're the psychic one.”
“Oh right. Okay, give me a sec. Grams says I need to concentrate.”
“Wait! You need a crystal ball.” I say looking around.
When my eyes land on a glass bottle I pick it up and hand it to Elena her handing it to Bonnie.
When she does Bonnie jumps and I swear for a moment her eyes fog over turning white.
“Are you okay?” I ask when she pulls her hand back quickly.
“That was weird.”
“What?” Elena asks
“When I touched you, I saw a crow.”
“What?” I ask wondering why she saw that when she touched Elena and not me.
“When I touched Elena I saw a crow and fog and a man. I’m drunk.” She says when she catches mine and Elena’s weird looks.
“It’s the drinking, it’s nothing. I’m going to get a refill.” She say quickly walking off.
“I’ll be back.” I say looking at Elena and quickly following her, wanting to know what she was talking about.
This was just too weird not to drop. Considering I saw a crow more than once yesterday and I’m guessing Elena did to.
I didn’t take into account all the people at the party. I quickly lost sight of Bonnie making me even more lost than I was.
Sighing I walked deeper into the woods wanting to get away from all the noise it making my head hurt.
When the music and talking was just a low hum I took a deep breath. Avoiding the two people making out I walked a little farther till it was completely dark.
Taking another deep breath I sat on the large rock in front of me. Lifting my arms over my head I stretched sighing when my back popped.
“You know it’s not very safe for you to be out here alone.” Says a smooth voice from behind me.
Jumping I grabbed my chest and turned around quickly to see a dark haired guy dressed in a leather jacket standing there.
“Oh you scared me. Don’t do that!” I say taking a breath to calm my racing heart.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.” He says smirking making me think otherwise.
“Right.” I say taking another breath and standing up.
“Your one to talk, you're out here alone.”
“Yes but I’m looking for someone.” He says walking closer to me making me take a step back.
“Relax I don’t bite.” He says smirking as if he just told a inside joke.
“Unless you want me to.” His smirk growing.
“Cute.” I say not wanting him to think he is getting to me, even though my heart is racing.
It telling me how stupid I was for coming this far away from the party alone. Even if I screamed I doubt it would do much good.
“So now that you know why I’m out here why don’t you tell me why you are.” He says suddenly in front of me.
I can’t help but look up at him, his eye bright blue even in the dark.
“I wanted to be alone. The party was giving me a headache.” I say not seeing the point in lying.
Maybe I was crazy but I felt oddly relaxed around him. My heart was pounding but it was not telling me to run, not yet at least.
“How does it feel now?” He asks lifting his hand as if he is going to touch my face, without thinking I flinch away from him making him stop.
“Like I said princess I don’t bite.” He says smiling down at me.
Not knowing what to say I say the first thing I can think of wanting to change the subject.
“Who were you looking for again?”
“My brother, maybe you know him. Stephen.” He says moving away from me slightly making me feel like I can breath again.
“Oh, yeah I know him. He is back there, talking to my sister.” I say turning to look back at the party.
Turning back I’m surprised to see that he is standing there. I must show it on my face because he smirks at me.
“Problem?”
“Just expected you to disappear your brother has a habit of disappearing every time I turn around. Kinda freaks me out.”
“Well that's the last thing I want to do.”
“I’m sure... I never got your name.” I say wanting to get the heat off of me and back onto him.
“Well that’s because I never gave it princess.” He says smirking.
“Well are you going to tell me?”
“Next time.” He says winking.
Taking my hand he leans down and presses his lips to my knuckles.
“Until next time.” He says smiling and walking off.
Turning to watch him walk toward the party, he turns and smiles what may be a real smile.
“Octavia.” He says nodding his head and then seeming to disappear in the blink of an eye.
Sitting down on the rock I take a breath feeling tired all at once. Deciding quickly that I should get back before another less nice weirdo shows up, I stand up and start walking. It’s not till halfway back do I realize I never gave him my name, so how did he know it?
When I get back to the party I quickly spot Elena walking up to her quickly.
“Hey.” I say grabbing her arm, making her jump.
“It’s just me.” I say smiling.
“Sorry, just Vicky got attacked.”
“Vicky? like Matt’s sister, and attacked by what?”
“We don’t know, Jeremy found her, but we should get back home.”
Nodding I follow her till Bonnie stops us.
“Elena, there’s no way I’m psychic. I know that. But whatever I saw, or think I saw, I have this feeling…”
“Bonnie what is it?” I ask wanting to know.
“It’s just the beginning.” She says making shivers run down my spine.
“Well that’s comforting.” I say making both of them look at me.
“I’m going to go find Jeremy.”
“And I’m going home.” I say smiling and turning to walk back down the road.
When I get home I not surprised to see that Jenny is not here probably went to get Elena and Jeremy. Walking into the house I walk up to my room to see my bedroom window open.
“Yeah because that’s normal.” I mumble to myself and do a quick once over my room.
Once I see that everything is still here I lock my bedroom door and get ready for bed.
Hearing a caw I turn quickly to see the crow sitting on my window seal.
“You creepy thing. What do you have a tracker on me or something?” I say walking over to the window seat and sit down.
I’m surprised when he doesn't move.
“Your cool and all but you're starting to give me the creeps.” I say  reaching out to see if it will fly off when it doesn't I pet the top of its head it’s feathers soft on my finger tips.
“Well, not that I didn’t enjoy our time, it’s time you leave, I need sleep and you need to go stalk someone else.” I say moving to close my window.
It caws loudly and flies off.
Shaking my head I close and lock my window then fall into my bed yawning.
Hearing my phone go off I groan loudly. Picking it up off the nightstand I don’t even bother to look at who it is.
“Hello?” I ask putting it to my ear.
“Elena?” Ask someone but I can’t place who.
“Nope, wrong number dude this is the sister.”
“Oh sorry Octavia, I was looking for Elena. This is Stephen.”
“So why did you call my phone?” I ask rolling from my stomach to my side.
“Wrong number I must have put you in my phone as Elena.”
“Elena gave you my number?”
“Yeah, in case I needed to talk to her.”
“Wow you two are sappy.” I say yawning.
“Sorry, you sound tired I’ll let you rest.”
“Thanks, night.”
“Goodnight.” He says hanging up.
“That’s not the weirdest thing ever.” I say rubbing my eye and laying my phone back on the nightstand.
Cuddling into my pillow I quickly fall asleep hoping tomorrow will be better.
